ALL ABOUT Lo-Fi saint louis

LO-FI SAINT LOUIS

LO-FI SAINT LOUIS is the “parent brand” of Lo-Fi Cherokee. We began as an experiment in promoting the music scene in St. Louis in 2004, with the goal of publishing regular video content online. In early 2005, the website was launched, and we started sharing videos with the world. We initially self-hosted our videos, as platforms like YouTube hadn't yet been created (YouTube launched in April 2005). Over the years, we've evolved and adapted our video series, starting with live recordings of bands in venues and moving on to the Lo-Fi Sessions, a series of one-take live videos at City Museum. In 2012, we introduced Lo-Fi Cherokee, a hybrid event and video shoot that captures the energy and diversity of the Cherokee district's music scene through the lens of multiple acts in a single day.

All of these videos are archived on our website, creating a unique record of a specific time and place in St. Louis's music scene. Explore our video series and discover the rich history of LO-FI SAINT LOUIS.

Lo-Fi Sessions is a series of one take videos we produced after hours in one of the most unique spaces in St. Louis: The City Museum. We shot several of these videos between 2008-2010 and returned with another small batch in 2021.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Lo-Fi Cherokee is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together music, video, and the audience in a dynamic and unforgettable way. On a single day, multiple music acts – from up-and-coming talents to seasoned professionals – will converge in various venues for live music video shoots. When it's all over, we will have produced a collection of high-quality performance videos that showcase the diverse talent of the St. Louis music scene and capture the energy of one of the city's most vibrant commercial districts. These videos will be available online indefinitely, serving as a testament to a compelling moment in St. Louis history.

The event is followed by a wrap party on the evening of the shoot, a video release party about a month later, and an ongoing online release of the videos. In total, Lo-Fi Cherokee consists of four related events: the video shoot day, the wrap party, the video release party, and the online video release.

Since its inception in 2012, Lo-Fi Cherokee has attracted attention through word of mouth and social media, with a few dozen spectators at each venue. After the first year's experiment proved the event's potential, the press took notice and the videos garnered an average of around a thousand views each as they were released online over the following weeks. Don't miss out on this unique and compelling event – join us for Lo-Fi Cherokee and discover the best of St. Louis's music and video scene.
